ABOUT

You could say I was new to art but I've been cutting, welding, hammering and fabricating metal my whole life. When I was 14 my dad woke me up on the first day of summer vacation and said "You're not wasting your whole summer, you're going to work". Work was a sheet metal shop. I did odd jobs around the shop for a while but soon learned that I loved fabricating and welding more than mowing the lawn. So being careful to dodge OSHA I ended up in the shop, working with the guys there, making duct fittings, specialty items, welding and anything they would let me work on. I was a shop rat. Over the years I've worked in sheet metal shops, precision metal and machining companies, structural steel suppliers and stair and railing fabricators. I left the "hands on" part of the shop many year's ago but always kept busy doing projects for myself. Making Yard Art lets me work with my hands again and I'm finding a lot of fulfillment making these silly creatures. I hope you enjoy them and maybe they give you a smile.
